It’s Oscar night! Tonight, we revel in who looks fab on the red carpet (and who’s a disaster), relive our favorite films of the year and finally get to see whether or not Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin and ten Best Picture nominees (instead of the usual five) can boost Oscar ratings.
Last year, I was lucky enough to work awards season. I was at the 2009 Oscar Nominations, the blue carpet for the Film Independent Spirit Awards, the Oscars Food and Beverage preview (nothing like some Wolfgang Puck, Patron and Moet Champagne at 9 AM!) and the Oscars red carpet. It was exhausting but an absolute blast.
Screen grab of our footage of the Food and Beverage Preview.
Although I’ve watched this awards season from my couch rather than the press tent, I still have my Oscar picks and am ready for tonight.

Overall, I don’t think this has been a particularly exciting year for film and am more interested in watching to keep tabs on how I’m doing in my Oscar pool rather than out of any real investment in the show…especially since my favorites A Serious Man, Precious and the documentary Food Inc. are almost sure to be shut out of the fun.
What do you hope to see tonight–both on the red carpet and during the show? Who do you want to see win?
